The knee is one of the most complex joints in your body. It connects your thigh bone to your shinbone (tibia and fibula), and acts as a shock absorber for your leg. While you’re walking, crouching, or even standing still, your knee depends on a well-tuned system of bones, ligaments, cartilage, muscles, and nerves. If an injury, arthritis or another condition affects any of these parts, you may need a knee replacement surgery.
Accuracy is important in these procedures. The more accurate the surgeon’s measuring tools, the better the surgery can be planned and performed.
