Amritsar has produced many many International level athletes (Track and Field) but pity it still has no Tartan track stadium. Now a days Amritsar is producing only good throwers, whereas there is no dearth of sprinters or jumpers also but could not do well because of non availability of Tartan track. Punjab Govt. has taken appreciable step in restarting the recruitment of sportspersons in Punjab Police but do not forget to provide Tartan track stadiums to all districts of Punjab and specially to AMRITSAR keeping its contribution in the field of track and field (Athletics).
